Maintain · Pillar 03

Long-term care, for sites we built.

Ongoing updates, monitoring, and incremental improvements for the sites we've shipped. Maintenance done by the studio that knows your site intimately, not a ticket queue, not a stranger reading documentation for the first time.

What we maintain

Three disciplines. One ongoing practice.

01 / UPDATES

Updates & patches.

WordPress core, plugin, and theme updates handled on a regular cadence. Every update tested in staging before going live, never blind updates that break production.

  • WordPress core updates
  • Plugin and theme updates (tested)
  • Security patches prioritized
  • Database optimization and cleanup
02 / MONITORING

Uptime & security.

Continuous monitoring of uptime, performance, and security signals. If something goes wrong, we know about it before you do, and have the context to fix it quickly.

  • 24/7 uptime monitoring
  • Core Web Vitals tracking
  • Malware scanning & intrusion detection
  • Daily offsite backups
03 / EVOLUTION

Ongoing improvements.

Small content additions, section refinements, new landing pages: the kind of work that compounds over time. A retained monthly allowance for the ongoing care a site needs to stay sharp.

  • Content additions and updates
  • New sections and landing pages
  • Schema and SEO refinements
  • Performance re-tuning as needed
How we approach maintenance

Four positions most agencies won't take.

Maintenance is often the part of an engagement that gets handed off to the cheapest available technician. We don't operate that way, and the differences are worth stating directly.

01 / KNOWN CODE

We only maintain what we built.

Maintenance assumes intimate knowledge of how a site was built: the theme decisions, the plugin choices, the architecture. Inheriting someone else's build means flying blind. We don't take that risk on your behalf.

02 / SAME STUDIO

The same people, end to end.

No handoff to a different team after launch. The studio that built your site is the studio maintaining it. Context doesn't get lost in transition because there isn't one.

03 / TESTED FIRST

Updates go through staging.

Every WordPress core, plugin, and theme update gets tested on a staging copy before touching production. Blind updates are how sites break, and we don't break sites.

04 / DIRECT LINE

No ticket queue.

Maintenance clients have a direct line to the studio. Email gets answered within a business day. No support tier escalation, no SLA gymnastics, just a working relationship with the people who know your site.

FAQ

Asked often, answered plainly.

Browse all questions
What do maintenance plans include?

Updates, security monitoring, daily backups, performance checks, and a defined number of support hours each month. Plans are sized to the site's complexity and traffic.

Do you maintain sites you didn't build?

No. Maintenance assumes intimate knowledge of how a site was built: the theme decisions, the plugin choices, the architecture. Inheriting someone else's build means flying blind, and we don't take that risk on your behalf.

How fast do you respond?

Maintenance clients have a direct line to the studio, and email gets answered within one business day. No support tier escalation, no ticket queues, just a working relationship with the people who know your site.

How are plans billed?

Monthly or annually, in advance. Specific payment terms are set out in your Service Agreement.

What's not included?

New feature development, major redesigns, content writing beyond minor edits, and recovery from incidents caused by changes made outside the plan or by third-party services, unless expressly included. Larger work is scoped and quoted separately as project work.
