Brand · Pillar 04

Identity, built into the work.

Brand systems shaped to live on the web, not in a PDF style guide that gets forgotten. Identity, art direction, and voice developed alongside the build, so the brand and the site are one piece of work.

What we build

Three layers. One brand system.

01 / IDENTITY

Identity system.

The foundation layer: logotype, color, typography, and the structural decisions that hold the rest of the brand together. Designed to work at every size, on every surface.

  • Logotype and wordmark
  • Color system & usage rules
  • Typography pairing and hierarchy
  • Grid, spacing, and layout principles
02 / DIRECTION

Art direction.

How the brand looks beyond the logo. Photography style, illustration approach, motion language, and the visual treatments that shape every page and asset that follows.

  • Photography & image direction
  • Illustration & iconography style
  • Motion & animation principles
  • Texture, surface, and material language
03 / VOICE

Voice & messaging.

The words layer. Tone of voice, writing principles, messaging architecture, and the core lines that anchor the brand's positioning. The brand on the page reads as the brand in the room.

  • Tone of voice principles
  • Messaging architecture
  • Core lines & positioning copy
  • Editorial guidelines for content
How we approach brand

Four positions that shape the work.

Most brand projects end in a 60-page style guide that nobody reads after week three. We approach it differently, and the differences are worth stating directly.

01 / INTEGRATED

Brand and build, one practice.

A brand system designed in isolation rarely survives translation to the web. We develop brand and build together, so the identity is shaped by how it will actually live: on screens, in code, at speed.

02 / RESTRAINED

Less, but considered.

The most premium brands are the quietest. We design systems that work hard with few moves: a tight color palette, two type families, a clear structural grid. Restraint reads as confidence.

03 / LIVING

Systems, not PDFs.

Style guides die in PDFs. We deliver brand systems as living code: components in your theme, design tokens in your CSS, and a documented system that gets used because it's already there.

04 / CONSISTENT

One source of truth.

A brand applied differently across the website, the deck, and the social account isn't a brand, it's three brands. We define the system once and apply it consistently, with documentation that holds up.

Brand in practice

Éclataur, brand and build as one.

Our flagship property's identity system was developed alongside its build. Logotype, color, typography, motion language, and voice, all designed to live natively on the web, all documented as living code in the theme itself. Every layer below ships in the theme, not in a PDF.

Browse all questions
What does a brand engagement include?

Three layers: the identity system (logotype, color, typography, and structure), art direction (photography, illustration, and motion language), and voice (tone, messaging architecture, and core lines). The exact scope per project is set in the Service Agreement.

How long does brand work take?

Typical scope is 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the deliverables. Brand developed alongside a website build runs on the combined project timeline.

Will the brand work on the web?

That's the point. We develop brand and build together, so the identity is shaped by how it will actually live: on screens, in code, at speed. Deliverables ship as living code, components in your theme and design tokens in your CSS, not a PDF that gets forgotten.

Do I own the brand assets?

Yes. On final payment, ownership of specifically commissioned final brand identity assets transfers to you, as set out in the Service Agreement.

Do you take brand work without a website build?

Brand work is strongest developed alongside a build, and that's how we prefer to take it. We occasionally take standalone identity work when the fit is right; the fastest way to find out is a short conversation about what you need.
